Every stitch digitized by hand. Every message answered by me.
Hi, I'm Mary.
I'm the owner — and the only person — behind Bay Lake
Embroidery. I'm a retired school principal, and every font and design in this
shop was digitized by hand, by me. I write the listings, pack up the files, and
answer every message myself.
I didn't start out making fonts. When I opened my shop in
2017, I sold embroidered baby quilts, personalized with names. I bought the
fonts and designs I used — and nearly every one of them stitched letter by
letter. Start, stop, trim. Start, stop, trim. For every single letter.
I knew there was a better way: native BX fonts, which stitch
from one letter to the next along the nearest connecting points. The problem
was that I could hardly find any for sale. So I started digitizing my own.
The first time it worked, I was stitching a name on a baby
quilt with a little script font I'd made. The whole name stitched all the way
through without stopping once. No thread breaks, no jams — my machine just
hummed along.
That was what I'd been looking for. It's what I've been
making ever since.
Why native BX makes a difference
Many fonts sold as "BX" are really stitch files
wrapped up to type in Embrilliance. They work — until you need a different size
or fabric. Native BX fonts are digitized directly in Embrilliance, so the
software builds the stitches fresh every time you type.
- Fewer
stops and trims. Letters connect as they stitch, so names run through
smoothly instead of jumping and trimming between every letter. - Resize
without the mess. Go bigger or smaller and the stitches recalculate
for the new size — no bloated, overstitched letters. - You're
in control. Adjust density and underlay to suit your fabric, from
towels to fine cotton.
